Auchinderom 8 Year Old Tasting Notes
Official tasting notes
Nose: Peat right up front, a hint of burning pine and timber from a campfire on the mountains, burnt orange sweetness.
Palate: Full mouthfeel. Peat smoke and wood. Fresh, salty sea air. Sweet citrus orange.
Finish: Long finish. Peat and salt with a touch of warming spice.
Ed's review
Colour: Natural colour, medium gold. Thick and oily in the glass.
Nose: Warm, earthy peat smoke. Red fruits, berries and plums. A savoury smoked meat character. Smoked paprika, cinnamon and cloves from the spice cupboard.
Palate: Medium to full mouthfeel. A surprising sweetness to begin with. Then smoked meats, like glazed ham or bacon with maple syrup. More fruit, stewed berries, plums and oranges, like a hearty compote. A touch of warming spice. Alcohol is well integrated adding body without burn.
Finish: Medium to long. Fruit and smoked meats with a touch of spice leave your palate chewy and ready for another sip.
